I need abit of advice before I purchase my tickets.
I passed my test in Early January of this year, I am yet to drive on a Motorway, would you say it was ok to just get out there and drive upto Santa Pod considering the lack of experience I have?
Im more than up for it as I really want to go.
Anyone been in a similar situation to this in the past?
Have had a few people say I shouldn't go because my car couldn't take it, because its a 1.0 and the engine wouldn't handle it.
If I went I would want to take my car and be on the club stand but others have said that I should just get someone else to drive up there in there bigger engined car.
Would you say, considering I have to drive from Cornwall to Santa Pod which is apparently around 300 miles approx., that it might be abit much for my engine?
Also wondered if I do go to PVS, is there some sort of site map there so I can find where the CS Stand is?
Also any other info/advice would be massively appreciated

Best way to learn on the motorway is to get on there mate, try going on when its less busy?first day i passed i was away down the 62 its allways other drivers you have to be wary of, if you have confidence in your driving you will be fine

Why wouldn't your engine handle it because its a 12v? My 12v got me all round the uk. Went to Wales and stuff 
Plenty of time to go on a motorway before hand. Tbh i don't see why people worry about the motorway. I find it easy to drive on
First time i went on a motorway was to alton towers with a load of mates in the car. Just like joining a bigger dual carriageway imo

I had to learn to drive on the motorway so just drove there and threw myself on it I soon got the idea

in my experience, a motorway in normal daytime/nighttime driving with a normal flow of traffic (not rush hours) is so much easier to drive on than a normal town road with mums picking their kid's up from school.
it's only 70mph anyway, you don't have to go faster  PVS convoy should be 70mph also

I actually use a dual carriageway everyday, I think its My Dad just trying to put me off going, and trying to be protective.

First time I went on the motorway, I was following someone, didn't know where I was going then spotted M62 sign as I was leaving a roundabout. Since then I've done many many motorway miles. I did 400 miles a couple of weeks back with a dodgy AFM, all the way there it was running lean, then on the way back I knew that it would be running lean so had to take it easy. Just cos it's a small engine doesn't mean it can't last long journeys

ive been driving 1 year 3 months n never drove on the motorway, if i need to go down the motorway my bf drives, i must admit i am scared

My brother was driving for about 2 years before he went on a motorway, now he drives on either 2 or 3 twice a week. He has no sense of direction tho and needs a navigator

last year i was in the same boat i drove up with my dad in the end, was a great day, you will most prob regret it if you dont end up going.

Thats true, I looked at all the pics from last years show and really wanted to go to it but couldn't at the time because I couldn't drive.
Thats another question, is it a good or bad idea to invite my Dad to come along.
Hes a Vauxhall nut aswell and would be up for it, but I will be camping and I have heard from Pow that alot of people 'let it all hang out'
Either way he will have to put up with it

12volters can handle a big journey i went from manchester to northampton the other weekend and it was fine, sohuld have been 2hours but stupid cheapo satnav means it was 3 and half hours

Don't be shy about the motorway mate! Pick a dry bright day/sunday and get on there in the afternoon and evening. Is sooo much easier than driving on normal roads.
I did 40k in my 1.28v too  Drove that for miles and miles on the motorway. It's all about momentum haha!

You just go on the campsite on the Saturday then move to the stand Sunday morning, there's 2 campsites tho, the cs lot generally go on the on round the far side of the strip, if you drive in and follow your nose till you see the strip on your right, carry on round and you'll see the other camp site

We'll camp wherever is less noisy and wherever there's an area big enough to all be together. Look out for the flag.
