Firstly, apologies for picture quality. For anyone that didn't see yesterday's thread, click here!

After washing - you can see the colour differences. It has definitely had a new boot and bumper at some point. This is really where you can see that the roof has faded. Most of you will know about the crash (new bonnet, bumper and passenger wing)

Old wing, new bonnet.

New wing, old doors.

The roof is what really needed attention. After all 3 stages. Not a huge difference tbh.

The roof again, after all 3 stages, then Meguiars Spray Wax which I always used to use after simply washing. Picture quality isn't great but you can see that the boot is a more vibrant red.

Ok, with not hugely successful results with the roof (although it is much better, just not great) I decided to tackle the drivers wing with Megs 3 Stage. You can see by the colour of my shadow, the difference between wing and bonnet still.

Because of time, I set about doing the rest of the car with just the Megs Spray Wax, which I highly recommend for people that want good results, for not a lot of effor.

This shows the difference (or not much) between the Stage 3 treated wing, and Spray Wax treated door.

And from my bedroom window, it looks pink

So, in a bit of a conclusion. The Meguiars stuff is very good. I definitely noticed the difference on the roof. It was much smoother and had changed colour. However it was still on the pink side of red. I put this down to a few things. 1) An 8 year old, flame red car that has covered nearly 80k miles and probably never been kept in a garage 2) I needed to work the Paint Cleaner (Megs t-cut basically) a lot better.

Yeah, don't like it. When I first used it, it didn't seem to make much difference at all (this was just on a washed car).

Then bought the Meguiars Spray Wax, foam pad applicator and ultimate microfiber cloth and got much better results.

concentration on your face!!

As you know Dean i seen your car many a time and i rate it as one of the less Pink Red Corsas i've ever seen and surprised you had that thread yday. still i havent seen the roof, or at least taken notice.

in terms of clay bar, i tried it to remove black dots etc, but with no luck, its only gets rid of the "surface" smaller particle stuff...i got some tar remover but still to have chance to use it!

You should have waxed after the SRP mate. SRP contains loads of fillers and even the best 'Detailers' would reccommend it when not using a machine. Best to apply it 1 panel at a time, then finish off with your spray way. I used to hate SRP, I'm sure there are posts on here about it, but when you know how to use it properley its one of the best on the market.
