just looking into figures for monthly costs if i buy a house and have worked out that of the £1650 i bring home a month, i'll only have 450 to play with (minus all bills and taxes)

anyone else survive on this?

I only have about £80 left over each month after paying for everything. My missus is left with about £250 and she then puts nearly all of that in savings

I normally have £600 left over a month With a house i feel i'll lucky to have £100

£450 should be plenty if its after everything (fuel, car tax for the year, insurances etc etc etc.).

For the last month I've been living off £125
Tough but you learn not to spend it on random shit

50 council tax
50 bills
50 tv & internet
200 other bills
100 food
150 travel
20 insurances

I'd split things down more than that. Gas, Leccy, Water individually etc etc.

Also TV license?
Council tax looks a bit low to me too....

can't remember specifics.
things like insurance, road tax, and random fines tend to fuck me up, cos i tend not to budget for that kind of thing.

I was spending about a ton more than i earnt a month for a short while between lodgers.

Now i have a lodger again it should be more comfortable. slowly getting back into the black.

i don't keep a book and everything goes into one account at the moment. i only check my balance a couple of times a month, but luckily it normally kind of evens itself out.

I will probably have a disposable income of £475 per month once I have paid for everything. Its going to be tight in my opinion, but a mates live on alot less. Some only have £50 tops per week.

I dont think you have really drilled down to the real costs M4tt.

After I have paid for my house, I have £200 left from my wages.

I earn £57 per week from working in a pub.

I survive on that quite easily. Most nights I sit in and either do college work, play on my x-box, go round my mates.....that doesn't cost me a penny.

Havent got in yet, but after a quick budget, we should be left with about 600-800 between us.

thats based on 600 mortgage, and then 1k for all bills etc etc

combined basic earnings (take home) 2200.

But atm, and probably forever its about 2500 take home.

PLus more, yeah, you need to account for a "taaaad" more than that

I have £300pm, and that goes.

Im about to go down to about £150pm tops

Put it this way, my mortgage is over £1kpm, we put in £800 each. £160pm on shopping.

We save around £50 pm out of that £1600, and we've been in 2 years, so we're already had the stage of cutting down all the bills (knocking sky channels off, combining sky+BB, reduce phone, reduced life Ins etc...)..

So thats about £400pm on bills etc.... Buts its a nice sized house and council tax bracket D i think.
