I only ever see the chav brigade riding them, pulling off stupid maneuvers on the roads.
Hated them ever since some muppet undertook a car using the cycle lane and knocked me off my bike.

Same here, Im sure there are some people who ride scooters who drive properly, but I have only ever come across the people who think they are the dare devil of the scooter world.

I used to have a Peugeot Ludix Blaster RS12 until about a month ago when I sold to my cousin. I think they're great! Really made me consider a bike for this summer, a 125 or something. Didn't really like the cold weather when riding it, but they are unbelievably fun in the summer, great weather and t-shirt riding!

my 50cc did 80mph - then blow up

tip if reving to 15,000rpm ,dont just come off the throttle as you will then get no oil lubrating the engine, and it will seize in seconds!

i have owed 4 scooters in th past
1.Gilera Runner SP50 (silver) Loved it i was 16 at the time and was my 1st experience of been on the roads.but i knocked off that by my mate on his scooter s that went to scooter heaven.
1.Gilera Runner SP 50 (orange/anthracite) was covered in stupid free max power stickers out of car mags but went all the way to blackpool from newcastle for it and bought it expecting it to be ok once i peeled all the stickers off but never when peeled off it had bleached it self to the orange paint .
3.Gilera Runner FX125 (silver)
Really loved this had it for around 1 year the sold it on as i was learning to drive,i really miss it now.
4.suzuki fz50 (1980's) this was my 1st ever moped but for the fields, was a non runner when i bought it for £50 but cleaned the carb out and a bit of easy start sprayed in the carb and i was away, simply the best ever £50 i spent and was great fun, sold it to a lad down the street for £80 then he crashed it that really upset me lol.
Come to think of it i wouldnt mind another one as a toy for the hott summer days lol

Had 2. First was a Peugeot Speedfight 2 100cc WRC and I wrote it off after 28 days.
Off work for 9 weeks afterwards, due to injury.
Then when I got my insurance money, went and bought another one, but not a WRC version and had that for 1 year. Went through rear tire within 3500 miles.
I have calmed down since.

Blue paint looks shocking mike.
I have a SR50 with racing crank, sports exhaust and rollers etc, and keeps up with 70 kitted bikes up to about 50 (clock speed).
Handles better than runners aswell.
