A4s are a very inferior car from a driving enjoyment standpoint.

The front suspension is needlessly elaborate and gets very knocky very easily and costs the earth to fix.

They are also notorious for racks blowing out and pumps failing and both these jobs are costly due to the nature of the ammount of work involved in carrying out either.

Will, not being funny, buy have you got any insurance quotes on one yet? You're a young'un and they're often ridiculous money at your age, I couldn't afford to insure one at your age.

Quite found of BMWs. There's just too many cars to choice from

If i had my days again, i'd purchase a 106 GTi. I'm too old to be driving hot hatches now There's plenty of time in live to buy nice things IMO!

BMW's are cracking cars!

Parts are cheap as Vauxhall bits aswell unless you have a M car.

If your looking at the E36 shape I would recommend a 318is Its a 4 cyl but its a sporty version of the 318. It has bigger brakes, better anti roll bars, better spec and its 140bhp rather than 115bhp.

If you have any questions at all then just drop me a U2U.

PS I drive a 318is so I know about them

insurance for me would have been the same as the gsi while i was lookin at one but have since changed my mind about one now, just because there are a lot more bigger/faster things i can insure cheaper than a 316

I am considering an E46 as a new car too, I think they are really nice looking and it's got everything, climate control, cruise control etc. Very comfy and the 318's aren't as slow as people say! At the moment it's between that and an S3
