It's estimated, your next bill will be much lower as a result. (that's assuming they come and read it or you phone them to give them a reading)

You were pretty filthy after our sessions TBH

Been to my mums tonight so she could have a look as i had worked out both bills from when we moved in were so wrong!!

When we moved into the house the ladlord showed us the reading which was 1374.

We had been in the house a month and got our first water bill through and it said from the 31/8/07 (when we moved in) until the 28/9/07 our bill was £111. The reading they had down from when we moved in was 1337 (estimate) as apposed to the proper reading of 1374!! So basically they charged us for 48 units when we only had used 11

So now on this second bill which luckily i was sure was wrong, and my housemate seemed perfectly happy with had charged us for 150 units as they again estimated what our current reading was, even though i gave our proper reading ove the internet 5 days ago. We have only actually used 40!

From moving in just over four months ago they have us down for using 198 units and we have only used 51, lol!

Atleast i know now The lass who moved in with us has been renting for a couple of years now and should have picked up on the first bill but didn't! Me and teh other housemate were new to it all and basically didn't have a clue but she seemed happy so we thought it was right.

So tomorrow i will be ringing them up and getting the old bill sorted and this one and we should only be paying £20/£30!! I feel so much better.

I can't believe i wrote all thsi because it's fuckign boring.

It will say on your bill if it's an estimate or not. You should take regular readings anyway as a matter of good practice, most water companies overcharge and there's lots of investigations at the moment into some of them regarding this...

I moved into my student house, had a bill for 2.5k from previous tenants, has been an absolute nightmare sorting it out. Trust me, you want to make sure they get the bills right or it'll get out of control.
