I know all the issues with the compression ratio being so high but that can be sorted.

just wanted to know what sort of power can be had from the x16xe with a turbo conversion?

always preferred the idea to an x16xe turbo than putting a c20xe in

there was a thread about this the other day,

id give it up as a bad idea before you even start looking, it will cost a fortune to get it running reliably and to produce good power

engine £200-300
turbo/manifold (the kit) £800 odd
proper pistons £500
remapable ecu £500
decent intercooler+ piping £500
at least £2500 anyway, probably way more

plus the time on the rollers to get a full custom proper map which is going to be a bare minimum of £500+ depending on where you go.

if the x16xe is set up as follows before getting the turbo kit, what would still be used and what would be replaced or not required?

Mantzle Inlet
Janspeed 4-2-1 - Obviously will change with turbo kit
BMC CDA
De Cat
Newmans 264 Cams
Dbilas Pullies
Re Map - Obviously need another one with turbo
Ported Polished Head
Lightened Fly Wheel

as said, it should be 150ish there now..

you would have to lose the cams for the turbo though and get annother remap

You'll need a fully mappable system for a turbo, not a remap.

Also, is it a proper mantzel?
Proper ones can hold boost pressure, the cheaper ebay ones may not do.

And yeah, fit the std cams back in. As aftermarket cams for NA engines dont work well for turbo applications, too much overlap.

I can't be assed type out the list i did before.
But it can be done. And work well, very well.
A guy on mig has 240ish bhp from a turbo'd 1.6!!!
150bhp would be a poor result imo. SHould see more than that even running quite low boost.

Ideally you want a custom set made by someone like CatCams.
