a 9 ich wide wheel with an offset of 49 proply would rub the shock tho,
your et49 wheels have been made wider from the outside, this makes the et alot lower

But they don't cut the centre piece of the wheel. the band goes to the outside of the centre.

This is difficult to explain typing on here. I'll get pics and show you when mine arrive

See if someone proves me wrong or right...

If 7" = ET49

Then to maintain the interior position...

7.5" = ET42
8" = ET37
8.5"= ET29
9" = ET24
9,5" = ET17
10" = ET12
10.5" = ET4

Only bugger is that i found on WRD site for corsa is:
VA Mesh 7,5 x 16 33 195 / 40 - 16
HA Mesh 8 x 16 39 215 / 35 - 16
HA Mesh 8,5 x 16 33 215 / 35 - 16

The offset is lowered, but all the extra width is on the outer, the position of the inside of the rim doesn't change.

If the wheels are 5" wide, ET49 to begin with, and you add 2" and they become 7" wide, ET - 1

However wide you go, they won't touch the suspension, it's only the arches which are the problem. (unless you have them banded on the inner as well, but you'd have to specifically ask for that)

If it was 9" wide and still ET49, it wouldn't turn.

Some brand new Vauxhalls come with really nice 5 spoke steelies as standard, not sure if they're only in 5 stud though!

I'm sure someone who works for Vaux could confirm or not!

Yeah, they're 5 stud if it's the ones on Astras, Vectras and Merivas - usually diesels

You can buy G60 steels direct from VW dealers still too. Et35 offset though.

Re: Photos, slap some G60 arches on that MK2. Those wheels really don't look right poking out like that. Like sticking BMW ET20 Offset BBS on a Golf. They just look wrong. Sorry to sound so blunt, but I have a long standing with VeeDubs, especially MK2's Keskins, Borbets and BBS Splits might look fab being uber wide with stretched rubber on, but the Steelies just don't do it. Smart colour choice on the car though man. Really like it.

If it makes you fell better i understand that the offset wont change.

heres my diagram to show offset wont change ok
_l_ = 6" wide wheel
_l__ = 9" wide wheel

the extra 3" you've added is to the outside of the wheel i.e from the hub outwards. so your offset wont change.

Hope that makes sense, if not who cares
