i'm planning my install and wondered about sound proofing.

i know that in terms of sound quality, the more sound proofing the better, but i'm already adding extra weight so i don't want to go silly... i'm not after big dbs, just a nice sounding system for my choons.

i am going to be running a single 12" 1000w amped sub in the boot, 6x9s and comps amped in the front.

how much difference will i notice from dynamat on boot floor (inc spare wheel well) and under the door panels?? is this a good move?? i have read about alternatives, any recommendations??

i would also like to reduce the drone of my exhaust at motorway speeds, will using something like dynamat stop this or do i need to go more hardcore??

sorry for the essay but wanna get some good advice before i crack on...

cheers!!

Dynamat or Ivonhoe Sound Deadening is apparently quite good for this, I will put a bit in the XE when I sort the rear out.

tried carpet underlay. it doesnt make any difference really. loft insulation is great. makes a massive difference to road noise also. going to do it to the new one when im changing the seats.

probably it goes pretty flat when you squash it and you can rip it into thin strips. think it works better when its filling a space really not sure what it would be like under the carpet.
