hey, ive got 2 install some subs into my girlfriends new vw fox tmorrow but shes got a standard headunit. I no she has no sub outputs but i was thinking to tap into the rear speakers but, because its a new car i thought its a bit brutal. Im not much of an expert on sound systems after only doing my own.
Any help would be much apriciated

some amps will work off a speaker output as well as rca

Autoleads (available from halfords) do speaker cable -> phono splitters, this allows you to connect the phonos up to your amp.
Failing that you can get amplifiers with a hi-level input so you can put the speaker wires straight into the amp.
Will more than likely sound absolutely shite but those are your options without changing the head unit.

Just found these too, not much info on them but try giving them a call
might do one to fit your car, its a Mini ISO - RCA connector, most standard fit h/u's these days have some sort of mini ISO on the back for extras like CD changer, column controls etc. I'd have thought VWs would use this type of connection too.

not actualy seen the amp yet. some fusion package thing from halfrauds. My amp came with the option to tap into the speaker cable but never used it. I put my rca cables into my rear speaker output.

i guess i will find out more tmorrow when i get the headunit out. Needed to get some special becker release keys off tinternet.
