Yeah, goes into every gear, but no bite in 1st and 2nd. The rest work fine.

Is it not the release bearing on the clutch?

My moneys on clutch mate...if it goes in to gear it isnt the box...Does it whine Ect wen the car is running or not even a sound?

Nope every sounds normal. If it was the clutch then i wouldnt be able to get a bite in any gears would i? All other gears bar 1st and second are fine.

Which is what makes me think its a pin thats sheared off inside the box which holds the selector fork onto the shaft. As it's supposedly quite a common problem on the 6 speed boxes.

Fo sho...i though it was a 5 speed box not a 6 ignore what i said then....

When i changed my Shifter over i have to syncro each gear on the arm under the engine bay have you done that?

I followed the guide in the haynes to resetting the cable linkages on top of the box with no joy. As far as I'm aware thats the only setting up that can be done on my box

if it is a selector problem, you should be able to just swap the selector mechanism over on its own without removing the box... iirc

Warren - tell me about it!

Matt - Only thing that scares me is that if a pin has sheared off inside the box and is loose i wont be able to get that out aswell without removing the box would i?

Don't fancy sorting that and then the gears getting chewed up

Naaaa, they look pretty at night

Need to try and get the track rod end on the pass side done as it was seized last time, failing that i will replace the hole rod. and anything else that becomes apparent while the car is in bits tbh.
