they all do the same in my opinion. on a small engine its just really about makin noise, not really a noticeable power gain. poss lose power as sucking in hot air!

1) Its going to loose horse power if you put a induction kit on

2) If you put a PiperX panel filter in or any other make it probs wont increase your bhp either.

3) You probs will think it has as it makes more noise

4) there is no best one as such as they will all sound the same

So why bother with Air Filters then? if they are soo bad? - I wouldn't have said that it makes them lose power I would have said the only thing it does is make it sound nicer and pick up better

cone filters are exposed too warm air from your engine, when your engine tries to combust fuel with warm air, it lowers the detonation temperature which in turn leads to a poorer combustion cycle-this means the car runs a little less normal than it should do. hence why it is better to have an enclosed air filter assembly, but a more free-flowing filter. this way, u get more cooler, denser air in, which is fantastic for internal combustion.

hope this helps

i got a pipercross filter on my 1.4 sri 16v and it makes an amazing note. i looked into this about warm air geting to it so i got pipeing and made to custom air feeds running from my front kit grills to the filter. only thing now is a heat shield on the engine side of the filter. any available? or what material to make one?

+ i tried panel filter with derestricted air box and holes and i thought it sounded rubbish and there was no difference to performance but with the filter it makes an amazing roar and it seems a bit more reactive on the accelerator.

just my opinion though. but if anyone could answer that question i'd b greatfull.
