Is the flowtec manifold for the x14xe worth it, it costs around 450 well 700 summat with software
Whats the advantages of these would i see an increase in performance or would it be beter to go for something else like a manzel or lexmaul

Second hand if you can, coz you don't really get that much for your money.
But, they are a good start if you haven't got money for TB's or Carbs. The gains are about 10-12BHP, don't listen to this 20BHP bollocks.
They make the car a hoot to drive really opens up at 4.5-5K. Thats half the problem, the power is up the revs, unlike the lexmaul where it's an even spread.
If you've got the money to do it, then do it
EDIT - Those gains are on an X16XE

I have the lexmaul on my x14xe
Definatly noticed the difference at first, but I'm used to it now and the novelty has worn off.
I'd go for the lexmaul if you can get hold of one, really easy to fit too as it's a straight swap with the standard one.

What about Dbilas throttle boddies, ??
is there any point it being a 1.4, with all these mods that claim to add bhp here and there it might be more economical to just save up for an xe conversion.

tbh, if you want more power stick in a 1.6. A lot different to drive.

I gained an extra 10.8 BHP with a Mantzel.
At 3k i gained an extra 15 lbft of torque.
So all this about loseing torque low down the revs just isn't true.
