another quicky, what sealent is needed to go in the timing belt end bearing caps when the camshafts are replaced? is it just normal gasket sealent stuff?

i use the black sealant, but you are suppost to use the green one

changing the cylinder head, exhaust manifold and ive got dbilas tb's like you have to go on aswell. i was planning on trying to start fitting them tomorrow but all the work just boggles me.

what like vauxhalls own brand sealent or something. well im mechanically minded but with no experience and i think im biting off more than i can chew sorta thing. not looking forward to tackling all the hoses or the cam timing. im garenteed to get stuck at some point im sure.

Yeah, vauxhalls own is green, and good stuff.

I used Hylomar Blue gasket sealent, and i cant see any leaks on mine.

timings the easy part - lock the cams up, and line the bottom pulley up, removing/refitting the cylinder head was the hard part!

ah ok thanks, well im armed with a haynes manual and other intructions for the dbilas, hopefully il get through it alrite. if not im pretty sure il be adding to the posts in the help section.

It also might be worth replacing the cam oil seals.
Keep the cam caps in order too(they should have numbers stamped on them)

Id get GM seals too.
My pattern ones leaked like fook
