for a corsa b with a 1600 high spec'd engine in
best options, as my currant 2.0 front brakes are drum rears are shockingly bad
have a 20% imbalance on fronts!!!! and this makes stopping from 130mph very twichy as i found out! so when the 1.6 goes in, been more controlable stopping power. Brakes are good, but lock up a tad to easy (do to the imbalance) so need so smooth stopping power
v6 288mm front and cav rear discs conversion?
whats peoples opinions?

you shouldnt be doin 130mph 
ive got 2ltr brakes on my gsi with the abs disconnected and they are good but the handbrake light flickers on when braking at high speed.

V6 up front, dont bother with the rears unless your planning on fitting a bias valve.

well i was even thinking of keeping 2.0l fronts and getting rear disc's are drum snatch to easierly, and discs are more progressive

will 129 according to speedo, as had to lift off as rev limiter was cutting in

ive hit 120 in my gsi in 5th at 4500rpm, will my gsi limit out at 7krpm in 5th?

it will limit out where ever the rev limiter is, that is as long as it can pull to the rev limiter
and at 4500rpm, you speedo must be out, at 4500rpm thats about 90mph in my car in 5th

Rear disks are not needed.
Just fit some larger front's.
Turbo or V6.

V6 fronts, braided lines all round, remove the rear bias spring thingy and fit rear discs.

budget as with most things is tight (second hand with most things)
iv heard rear disc's improve stopping alot, with out snatching/locking up so lee Mitchel says
rear bias valve is removed anyway
the 2.0l would lock up at 100mph, just want more controlled, as i said before imbalnce is 20% on fronts, even though they were reconditioned (new seals etc etc) with new disc's and pads 
what about 4 pot wilwoods?
and dont want anymore of a spongy pedal either

Personally I dont like wilwoods.
my brakes are perfect IMO. Ive had wilwoods, hispecs and now AP. the best for the cash are probaly compbrake (we are the north easts main compbrake dealer) and their products are fantastic.

wilwoods are the max i can afford, so probley just keep to single pot vauxhall calipers
possibley thinking about these

spoke to dhdev on here about his brakes as everyone was comenting on how good is car was under braking at the brands track day, he is running big piston wilwoods with a compbrake pedal box, so thats what i will be running.

4 pot dynalites not sure on the rears he was using though ill be running the std drums for now.

probley just get some v6 fronts then convert the rears later
but won't v6 brakes be too firse? dont want to be locking up down country lanes

iv never tried v6 but i cant see how you stand any chance of getting a decent pedal feel the corsa master cylinder isnt big enough you will end up with a really long pedal

I never locked my V6 brakes, maybe I just wasn't trying hard enough, but I doubt that
My pedal wasn't long or spongey either, with a standard master cyl.

mine lock up all the time, but then again i do push the handleing/engine to the limits
all really want is more controlled stopping power, i no its never going to stop dead like my bike does (no that think chucks the back end up!!!)
yours and marks are the only peolpe who haven't got spoungy pedals!!!

think its down to what your used to driving aswell, I only noticed how poor the pedal feel was on the 2.0 setup when I started driving newer cars, nothin to stop you running the v6 fronts and adding a pedal box that way you can run any size m/c and adjust the bias prob cost about £200 - £250 for the box and the new lines

You never saw me drive my Corsa
I locked up the standard ones all the time, but the V6 ones were more controllable, you could brake harder without them locking.

surely the type of tyre depends on how easy the wheels lock up - aswell as the brakes?
