will 60mm springs fit correctly into standard struts?
when i jack my car up on its body the front springs pop out of place.
any help would be grateful

You answered your own question there.
If you jack your car up and the springs fall out, YES they don't fit.
You need shortened dampers.

Yeah because the strut is too long to hold the spring in position.

ok well i have thought of a solution, the springs only comeout when the wheels are lifted off the ground, so no real safety hazard, its just a pain when changing wheels etc so i am going to drill 4 holes 90 degrees to eachother in the strut base where the springs sit, i am then going to cable tie the spring in the correct position furmly, so what the car is lifted and the spring comes lose it will still be in the correct position when the car return to the ground, as the spring is cable tied firmly in place and the spring is unable to twist or move out of place.
sound reasonable?

That wont work as the coil will sit on the tie wrap and brake it off.
Dont bodge it do a proper job and get shortened dampers
