What headunits have you got and what do you think of them? As ive just got an ipod and want to get a compatible headunit so i can ditch all of the cds cluttering up my car

Also any recomendations would be greatly apreciated

alpine seem to be the best at the min its what i will be getting as chavfords have got a sale on at min, just look around on car audio sites and compare prices specs etc..

I have a Kenwood 7031 (IIRC). They wanted around £70 for the cable, so i decided to get a cable to convert the CD changers plug into RCA's, then get a RCA - 3.5mm mini jack and plug it into the i-pod earphone jack

EDIT: Just ordered the proper kit from ebay - £33 inc. P&P

I may pop into halfords then and have a look about and compare their prices to the online shops.
Do all of the alpine ones allow you to control the ipod as you would usually through the HU or do you still have to use the ipod?

This one looks good for the money and seems to have lots of features. Plus i have heard good things about pioneer regarding SQ and build quality. And it sounds like you can fully control the ipod throuig the unit

This one seems about the same, although it doesnt say that it charges the ipod etc like th other one does

supose it come down to whether you prefer alpine or pioneer. Think i like the pioneers better

i've gotta JVC one that i got for 150quid from halfrauds. came complete with the ipod adaptor and it works fine. the actual ipod interface is surprisingly easy to use as well.

The SQ isn't bad though it doesn't necessarily have the bigest range of features you'll ever find. but the ones it has all work nicely.

Ive got JVC at the moment but have been told they are not the best make to go for regarding SQ etc

So i thought i would try something different
