1000 is rough tho, most of my tracks are 12" 8 minute jobies off vinal

my mp3 on my pc jus now is t 30gb and thats about 4000tracks


its a mp3 player/hard drive hayley

icy, a lot of my tracks are 192kbs so if i knock them down to 128 i should save myself a lot of room

on my pc i have about 2000 tracks at the mo, but i dont have more than 2-3 tracks off any album or any full albums as yet

i could cut out most of the crap, christmas songs, 12" mioxes etc and fit 1000 on ok

how much is the smallest normal ipod? worth paying the bit more?

15gb for around 250
20gb 250-300
30gb 350ish
40gb for 400 <------but cheapest found was 366

aye but what do u need on top?

docking station?

i used to have a minidisk player and i used it in car/home/walking/bike etc so these seem pretty damn good

gonna have 2 go have a look @ them to see quality and size.

smaller one will fit in pocket nicely, might see if they bring out a larger HDD for the mini one (doubt it as yet) or see if any shops doing a good deal in a month or so

when did they officially come out?

was gona get 20gb at first but
doesnt come with docking station etc
30 and 40gb come with it.

yeh got few mds too but theyre broke lol

only probs put me off is the battery
meant to go down quick over a year say new u get 8hrs yr later only get 4hrs
but batteries r about £45 for new ones

40gb is £366 on apple site thru education section, gotta type in where u studyin to get the ££ off

oh and they weigh less than 2 cds
so light as...

i need some1 to get staff discount on one so i can get it cheap

its a toss between the mimi 4g and 40g one

40gb is slightly thicker than 10-30gb ones
theyre small alredy anyways.

u been on the ipod hack web site??

people taking them apart and connecting them up 2 their car headunita and allsorts!!

been on a site who sells hdd for cars with displays similar to ipod but do like 120gb ones for 200 quid

New minidisc format has been announced... 1gig per disc at $7 each. Not bad going. Uploading and data use as well. I know what I'm going to buy Screw Ipods and their shitty batteries

With the strength of the £, and taking into account ripp off britain, I think they'll be £5 max. Bearing in mind that the current top Sony MD recorder is about £210 here, and $300 in the US, I don't think it'll be that bad a ripp off.
