I want to smooth the lines in std sport bumpers, would this bee suitable to do DIY for a novice but quick learner like me or is it worth getting a body shop doing it?

You may as well try yourself first, would be good experience. If it doesn't work out, take it to a bodyshop then.

Here's a pic for inspiration, you'll prob want to keep the space for the grille though as not many people like the way i've smoothed mine to meet the bonnet -

yea mate, go for it, as long as u put fibre glass stuff 1st and then filler over the top it should be all gud, i smoothed my rear bumper myself and i havent got any experience. if u feel ur pretty capable at that sort of thing then u should. would save alot of money aswell.

well if you were doing the rear, sand down the line with very course sand paper, maybe even put scores in along it to help the fibre glass and filler stick in place. then you could use p40 fibre glass mix stuff and fill the gap until its almost flush then do the same with p38 filler on top and sand it down as u put each layer on. sanding is only really key on the final layers i think so its totaly smoothed over. then prime it and spray it. there should be a tutorial of this sorta stuff on this site, you should have a look there.
