Got the car back now with the new engine, and cos it had been off the road for so long, i forgot about the handling problem, and now with the new more powerful engine its time to sort it!!
Generally it feels quite skittish at high speed, it pulls hard to the left under acceleration, more than i would attribute to torque steer alone. Also, when the wheel is turned say 3/4 of the way to one side and you let go of it when you are driving, the wheel pulls itseld all the way to full lock instead of back to the centre, and you have to fight against it to get it back. Any idea what could be causing this? Is it a simple case of tracking, or could there be more to it? Its going back to the garage on wed to get reverse gear sorted, and ive told them about the handling, just looking for other ideas to save time in fixing it

MY XE was a bit skittish at high speed and generally felt dangerous. Got the tracking done on a 4 wheel alignment jobbie, thats sorted it.

My xe also feels skittish and dangerous at high speeds. Also has a bit of a judder or shake in the steering wheel while driving at 60+. Its gone at the minute having a rebuild and throttle bodies fitted. I would like to get this sorted as well when it comes back.

Tracking and wheel balanced should sort this out then? Any other possible causes for the poor handling, incase that does not remedy the situation?

check bottom ball joints, tie rod bushes and TCA bushes.

Get the tracking checked, you're after 1-2deg toe in to make it stable or 0deg to make it turn.
