I'm going to be changing my engine over as mine has just blown. Will i just need the ecu from the doner car as i have a X14XE in my car at the min. Will i need to change the key or anything else?

dont change ecu or anything just swap the engine

get an engine from the same year car as yours, there are differences in the wiring between early and late engines.

be worth dropping in a 1.6 16v. not much extra to do and def worth it. thats what i did after my 1.4 gave up

i really want a 1.6, but i can't find any near me and i need a running car for work 
so i'm ok with just the engine from a 96? mine is a 96 btw
