well after PVS at the weekend ive fallen in love with the MK2 Astra GTE.
any past experiences with these cars? good points, bad points etc?
good owner websites for these cars?

Thats always been my fav Astra, always wanted one. I hear they're fast as hell as standard and highly tunable.

my dads had a couple, watch out for rusty rear arches! was a big pain lol.
My Dad had a white GTE with calibra BBS 16" alloys in white, was a stunner and in origional condition.
Sold it at an auction for £150

Old rusty shell packed with an old smoky red top. There is one my brother services in white with the yellow stripe colour sceme running about 175bhp which is foocking quick.

get the 16v GTE 
mentally good. but yeh, rust is always a problem. Very quick.
My uncle had one with new cams, 4,2,1, full exhaust system etc and was kicking out about 168/170bhp

I had a mk2 astra for my first car, not a GTE though(1.6sxi with GTE kit)
I loved mine! and was great to drive Had to get rid of it though was costing too much!
