what other mods are you planning on doing? as a ported and polished head would really complement a throttle body or weber twin 40 carb conversion, an exhaust manifold wouldnt go a miss either

as above exhaust manifold matching of the inlet ports and twin 40's with an ignition managment etc is what you would need to go with it. looking at 1200 all in though for that little lot

yeah,my next mod will be a exhaust manifold (struggling to find one at the moment,i'm after a 4-2-1 the only few i have actually found to fit my car only seem to be 4-1),and tb's will be coming up a bit later in the project.want to get a good solid efficient engine to bolt all the performance mods to.

if you are spending all that cash why not start with a 1.6 16v, tuning costs are similar but spend the cash on the right engine and its the difference between 130 bhp and 160 bhp.

the idea is smooth all the edges and get rid of ruff casting marks

you will need a dremal and alot of pantents!

Don't you also need to leave the ports slightly rough to aid in the mixing of petrol/air?

thanks mate

the motor hasnt had much done to it really, just the throttle bodies, ported and polished head, 4-2-1 manifold,

power figures are around 90bhp and 100lbft torque, but that was without the 4-2-1 and without the trumpets.

I got the manifold from a user on here, and the strut brace is from strutbracer.co.uk but i dont think it will fit with the standard throttle body and inlet manifold
