I currently have a 1.4 16v sport and am wanting to get a 1.6 16v put in. What would i need to change apart from the obvious of engine, gearbox and ecu?

Actually, all you need is the engine and ECU with chips from the key, and the transponder ring from the ignition barrel.
No need to bother with a new gearbox.

Yeah, TBH, you've got no chance of breaking one with a 1.6 engine.

Yep, Corsa one is better though, the inlet manifold is different to the Astra (non sport) and Vectra ones.

Torque breaks gearboxes, and seeing as tuned 16xe's gain hardly any torque over std, its fine
