i've got my MOT coming up (very) soon, and i've just found out my foglights don't work
is it true you need these by law? i'd like them to work either way tbh.
anyway,
i've checked the bulbs - which are fine - and when i press the button to turn them on, the button lights up.
i've also had a look at the wiring, which all seems fine. is it possible for the lamp holders to just die? and is it a bit of a coincidence that they died at the same time?
any help would be very much appreciated.
thanks,
tim

Yeah you need them for MOT.
And they must be RED in colour.
The switch only lights up when the fog lights are on, so if the switch is lit then the lamps should be on.
Check with a multimeter to see if 12v is reaching the bulb socket.

try changing the bulb anyway to make sure it is ok. You only need a foglight on the drivers sdie btw!

cheers for the help.
i used a mulimeter, but couldnt get to the terminals on the lampholders (i think they're fine & secure though)
i tested the contacts where the bulb sits, and they didn't have any voltage.
when i put in a different bulb, the holder keeps twisting.
does it need to click into position to work or anything?

do you need both reverse lights to be working for MOT?
only one of thems f**ked as well now.
anyone know whether the lamp holder has to be screwed in before it'll work/how to screw it in propery? (i mean into it's holder, not into the light)

My mot was failed due to fog lights.
Both were working, but the passenger's side was emitting white light instead of red.
But I thought it would be ok as the drivers side was emitting red.
Oh well.

If you have two, both have to work, both have to shine red.
