used to hit the limiter in the old 2.0 16v, only really in first, as it's too short,
as soon as i floored it, i was basically at the limiter...

You asked me that in another thread and I wrote an essay reply im assuming you didnt see Nice one.

Not coming to that one no, Pugfest, FCS and Rally Day all on the cards though. Im on the track at Rally Day again and signed up to PSOOC the other day so I can get some runs up the hill at Prescott. Might be a talk-torque track day somewhere in between aswell. I need to tell you my plans for the Rallye, might scare you though lol!

I used to drive like a twat all the time bouncing off the limiter in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and pushing it in 4th. Some off her will vouch for that. Over the past year I have slowed down.

It costs you money to repair the car and eventually you will either crash or kill someone. Thing that slowed me down was almost hitting a young girl around 4. Was only going slow at the time through my close when she run out. Was really lucky! If i had of been driving stupidly i would have hit her and could have even killed the poor child. Also spun the Corsa on the motorway which scared me, no idea how i go out of that one but i could have been killed.

People telling you won't slow you down, it has to be your decision. I guess we all grow up at some point.

Why the fuck did you used to drive around purposely letting it bounce off the limiter in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th... that makes no sense

I could understand being caught off guard if you had a quick car with a power band peaking near the limiter, in maybe 1st and 2nd... but to bang it constantly off the limiter in 3rd and 4th wtf?

How the fuck did you manage to spin a corsa on a motorway too

Depends where your powerband is.

Mine is right up to the limiter, infact it pulls better in the red, hence why I need to change as close to the limiter as possiable. This is why I hit it quite offten!

my corsa would hit the limiter all the time, only time it had an issue was when it carried itself over the limiter when going down a hill.... then it got all messy.

The S2 106 Rallye does 62mph in 2nd, the Gti/VTS is ever so slightly taller geared to i'd say 63-64mph.

I never ever do in my car, I dont know what it is but something tells me limiter = the end of the engine. Although there really isnt any need anyway.
