Quick question...when getting "show plates" if the font remains standard font but u add a border, some bottom text and a logo on the side, does this make the plate illegal?
A company selling plates claim it is illegal however a lot of newer cars have the bottom text to advertise where the car was from, usually a border these days and also a GB or EU logo to the side of the plate.
I thought it was only plate size and text size, font and spacing that effected the legality of the plate. Can anyone confirm? And has anyone been pulled for "show plates" and what was the consequence, producer? Fine? etc

To have anything other than GB badge at the side of the letters is technically illegal. 9 times out of 10 coppers dont bother with it as long as the letters, spacing, font etc is still as it should be. MOT places may differ.
Number plate makers have to put that they are show plates and not legal for road use to cover thier backs really.
