i have had mine for 8months and no problems. The PSU porblem has been addressed and is the only thing sony fanboys can come up with.

Sony also has failed PS3's


Also the XBOX 360 DOES output at 1080 over the component

The ps3 packages i've seen come with hdmi cables btw.

Can you play a rights managed hd-dvd that needs full hdcp at full res over component on your xbox

john why would i use my console as my main HD DVD player? i will use my stand alone that outputs at 1080 so your argument is irrelivent.

Can you please get some new material.

Back to the good old defense, my console can't do this but i don't want it to do it anyway.

If it did have it and the ps3 didn't you'd be the other way.

You should go and do some console and football research then come back next week.

Why buy a stand alone? you're going to have to buy a blu ray player once that has won the format war

Blu ray is being outsold by HD

John the xbox does play HD films it only needs a new cbale to support 1080.

PS3 is also noisy compared to a standalone and needs a seperate cable.

PS3 was quietest of the 3 latest consoles on the review I read.

Also there are no concrete hd vs blu ray figures atm, every report you read differs as to what one is ahead in sales.
