how much money is involved? Well if your wanting to do it properly then over 3k. Thats how much I have spent so far and I havn't even fitted it yet, AND i'm doing it all myself. So not cheap
Engine
loom
ECU
gearbox
shafts
hubs
2wd conversion
mounts
ARB blocks
modified hoses
suspension
brakes
exhaust
intercooler + piping
radiator fan
servicing
That's all I can think of right now, sure there's more though. Then yours insurance, and if you were born 1989 then I wouldn't even bother trying to insure it.

1000 Engine loom ECU
300 gearbox (F28 6 speed)
90 shafts
120 hubs and barings
57 2wd conversion
120 mounts (can be cheaper depends on car)
20 ARB blocks
300 modified hoses (Roose Motorsport ones)
250 suspension (Can be more but depends on Spec)
150 brakes (2lt 16v setup)
250 exhaust (Manifolds back custom job)
200 intercooler + piping (good size intercooler)
60 radiator fan (Slim Spal one)
200 servicing (can be alot more but just a rought number)
Total 3117
Thats going off what C4RLO has said, an thats without any labour IF you need somone to do all the work.
It can be done for 2500 BUT thats without suspension brakes pipes etc etc

£3117 is a good figure for the conversion.
Mine has come to a bit more, but I have went down higher spec route e.g suspension, brakes, exhaust. And so far i've spent about £800 servicing, but I have done a full engine rebuild.

so all in all, not a cheap conversion at all. Expensive and very time consuming, and even worse if you have never done it before.
So . . . you sure you want to carry a LET conversion out?

That is going to be a weapon!
Where did you get the space frame made? I'm looking at getting one in a year or so for a rear wheel corsa/nova.

If you are comparing the XE to the LET then there'a about 50bhp in standard form. XE is easier because you havn't got the comlications of a turbo.

XE is 150 bhp
LET is 205 bhp
You can turbo XE's, but if your going to do it properly then I would say it's cheaper to buy a LET.
