i'm pretty sure with 5 sps (Strokes Per Second), you would get some nasty friction burn

Each cam will turn twice for each RPM of the crank. As the pistons work opposite.

So, when you run your engine in for a 1000miles, your pistions have gone up and down 3,000,000.6 times

Surely abit of metal doesnt that long to wear in

Flywheel will be one RPM per one RPM of the crank.

Anyone know about the gearbox?

Sorry for the drop of tone guys, seems you're having a very intellectual discussion here.
It is quite impresive how high the resistance to wear of the parts in an engine are going on how many revolutions are performed

This was my next point. How the fuck does these moving parts last sooo long?

If you think about it in the long run, any component of a car is reliable. Imagine how many RPM's a wheel bearing does.

Yeah I worked it out on travelling said miles at 60mph at 3 k rpm

And they last for 1000's of miles

Edit - They only travel the same speed as the car, so if the car is doing 60mph, the wheel bearing is doing 60rpm, right? Thats not as impressive as cranks/pistion/cams
