As per title really

Im in the process of removing an oil pump to replace the seals, as its not the sump gasket which is leaking its coming from the oil pump area. Think its called the crankcase oil seal.

I've removed the sump etc, bottom pullie (alternator/power steering) and im now scratching my head as regards to what next?

Now im assuming the bottom timing belt pullie has to be removed then all the tensioners and followers, then the rear cam belt guard removed to gain access to the oil pump so it can be removed.

Does all this need to be done or can the pump be removed without touching the timing belt ?

Your help needed please, Thanks in advance

Question answered on migweb.co.uk posting it on hear if it helps others

yea unfortunately you have to take the timing belt pully off, and the metal 'shield' bit behind all the pullies (i stripped a bolt getting this off, so be careful), as the oil pump is just bolted onto the side of the block, and the end of the crank goes 'through' it. this is what the oil pump looks like (inside-side lol)

but unfortunately for you, there are only 2 'seals' there, the funny upside down U shape (normally paper gasket) that seals to the side of the block, and then there's a round seal that goes on the very outside of the crank (just behind the cambelt pully when you take it off iirc), which is the crankcase oil seal that you are referring to. Thats it. if it was the crankcase oil seal it would 'drip' from just behind the bottom pullies.
