is that just the same idea as the stuff that was on it originally? what size should i get? like 3/4 of an inch?

orignial stuff is that same as double sided tape.

can buy them new from vauxhall from about 30 notes

its moulding tape you can also get the stuff with foam inbetween as well iirc the strips have 2 lines of tape on them around 6-8mm wide
