Just thought i'd open a can of worms over the phone laws that they are changing at the end of next month.

Police will soon be rewarding drivers with 3 points and a fine for being on the phone....

Are those bluetooth Headsets going to be illegal also?

i thought it was only if you had the phone up to your ear, meaning that you could only use 1 hand to drive/change gear.

i just stick mine on loudspeaker and leave it on the dash when someone rings me. does the job all the same as a bluetooth headset.

Think its only if you have the phone to your ear, good thging imo, £30 fine doesnt mean alot to some folk & they will keep re-offending, once they start to lose points they will soon take notice & stop.

what gets me is its fine to smoke, have somethin burning in your hand tapping it out the window + you aren't gona drop it in ya lap in emergency either!

Yet its fine to smoke/drive one handed but not use a phone

P.s I don't use a phone while driving either,

Just yesterday following some woman on the phone with the window down havin a fag at the same time! how stupid can you be!

i was following a white van man we were doing excess of the 70 limit and he was weaving all over the road!!! at on point he was in the middle of 2 lanes.... managed to overtake and he was on the phone!! what a blend!!!!!!

I hope that is sarcasm.

I personally think its a good idea. I've seen a number of cars being driven badly in the past and it turns out the drivers were on the phone.
