a C16XE is 4-5 bhp more iirc than a X16XE
but yes, you can notice the difference between a 1.6 and a 1.4

Not really. You'll need the engine, inlet, and ECU, everything else is the same.

depends on the year of the x16xe. theres 2/3 different engine looms
I would get:
engine, loom, ecu from a late 1998> corsa sport
use the existing gearbox and flywheel
use existing shafts etc

All u need is the engine mate, i put an X16XE into my 1998 X14XE kept the same gearbox, ecu, chips etc, just swapped the engines, altho i wud reccomend a X16XE ecu as it does provide the full power for the 1.6 engine

1.4 ECU is a bad idea, some of them are different and will make the 1.6 engine run lean, melting pistons.
Not worth the risk for the sake of a few quid...
