hi does anyoe know if a 1.4 and 1.6 ecu is the same im in need of a 1.6 ecu and chip as im using my 1.4 ecu atm for my 1.6

They are different. The Ecotec ones are similar, but it if you run a 1.4 ECU on a 1.6 it will throw up faults. Probably vice versa too.

friend of mine has a 1.6 running on 1.4 ecu,loom etc for over 2 years with no probs . but i quess it could be good luck

very late ecus are the same in the 1.4 and 1.6 but not common. a 1.6 will run on a 1.4 ecu but not properly.
