Hi, some of you may be aware i now have a X16XE in my car.
Its great but in the last few months ive had some minor teething problems.
- Engine management light on (code 46)
- Misfire when idling with the 'warm up fan' thing on
- very bad lag on acceleration when cold (almost seems like no power until 3K then all at once, FULL POWER)
- poor fuel economy
ive replaced so far...
EGR valve
Lambda Sensor
Coolant temp sensor
Cam belt and pullies (for safety)
as far as im aware this 'code 46' doesnt even exist which is baffling me some what.... discuss...
I will be grateful for any help.
thanks
Shane

code 46 is dispack related. either a bad earth or faulty dispack and/or wiring

interesting, that would explain the misfire, so its a case of checking the dispack and wiring. would HT leads cause a similar fault? as these got wet a while ago when i washed the engine down..

have you checked the timing mate? also i would check the bottom pulley and see if it has moved on the key way on the crank.

hi all
if you have been reading the thread ive had an intermittent fault, and here is tonights findings -
i started by stripping the upper inlet off then i checked all the wiring around that area and everything seemed fine, so just for good measure i swapped the Dispack.
re-assembled, started the car and it was idling at 2500-2000 rpm and the revs were fluctuating badly!
initially thought.. what have i missed off... but i hadnt
so i stripped it down again, and this time cleaned the earths and sprayed some magic spray on the big blue twist off mutiplug.
re-starts, idling problem solved but EM light comes on instantly
i get the feeling its a connection problem but just dont know where to look next
any suggestions will be taken on board

make sure the plugs are all bck on proper then do the wiggle test, go round the lot and poke and push everything you can find and see if it changes the running or throws the light off, failing that a trip to vaux may be in order may just be a code that needs clearing. make sure that the knock sensor is still plugged in thats a fav.
