yeah lol im going to wind the front down another 10-20mm and leave it at that i think.

i've had a look about round the usual routes and i've only got about 30mm clearance on some of the speedbumps an stuff as it is so dont want to go too low & run into problems, but im happy so far .. had a bit of trouble with the rear wheels locking up so i do need to adjust the spring

small update:

tried to wind the front coilovers down a bit tonight but realised im right on the limit lol cant wind down any more as the tyre will touch the coil, i'll either have to re adjust the camber or get some spacers to sort this.

also my exhaust keeps knocking the rear beam so im on the look out for a set of stiffer/smaller rubber mounts, i've heard powerflex do these?
i could also do with a new bonnet & offside front wing as mine are a bit tatty.

I bought & fitted the powerflex exhaust rubbers they are much stiffer so have cured the exhaust problem. I did re adjust camber and wind the coilovers down a bit more .. only problem was it felt like i was driving on ice the front end felt stupidly light .. i soon put it back to how i previously had it set up.

i have ordered some 3mm wheel spacers which should in theory give me enough clearance to go lower without the above problems.
oh yeah i re-fitted the front mudflaps to help keep the car cleaner over winter too.

for those interested (M Sutton)
Beetle update:

both passenger & drivers side sills have been welded, new running boards are on order, new carpet, parcel shelf, door cards, steering wheel, badges & chrome trim Have also been bought.

New bumpers are fitted, all the electrics have been re-wired, new brakes & light clusters.

Still a lot more work to do but it's getting there, doesn't miss a beat either considering its 30 odd years old and is a daily driver, its doing well

pics:

Updates:

Gave the car a clean and wax the other morning

I also have a few ideas/plans this winter one of them being new wheels which will be going on in the new year. The idea is to refurb & rebuild them over the winter months.
