How much roughly would a decent price be to fit lowering springs at garages? (got quote around £100) cheers

DIY, cost you a set of spring clamps.

i paid sombody to do it last year - stupid me! rear springs dont need a clamp and take fuck all time. Fronts arent too hard either. by way quote is about right maybe a little bit pricey

Last time I did a full set, it took me about 1 1/2 hours. Going off that quote, your looking at £66 per hour.

i might give it a go my self ? where can i get the clamps from? how long should i give to do it ?

I did mine myself, the fronts were complete already so i didnt need clamps. But if i remember right, its a bit of a pain undoing the top mounts on the rears. Could have done with a ratchet spanner. But i'd say a good 2hours if youve never attempted anything like this before.

Jere you go buddy. Have a read of this. The nut on the top of the strut is a bit of a pain. Use a drop ended spanner and put a spanner/socket onto the top to allow you to get some leverage.

Be careful with the clamps and make sure you tighten them up evenly. The clamps will cost you about £15 from local motor shop.

The hardest part about the rear will be undoing the bolts.

It's advised in the Tutorials to use 3 clamps but you can get away with using 2. As mentioned, just make sure you clamp evenly...wouldn't want a compressed spring going off towards me put it that way
