Hello all,

Over the last month me and my brother have been restoring a corsa gsi,
we are going to return it to its former glory but with a few extras that should have been there from factory..... i.e c20let and f28 etc!ha

anyway heres the story so far..........

The purchase

To cut a long story short, mate had made a start on it, put a c20xe in replaced a few items and go bored, He txt me saying are you interested a deal was done and it was purchased to finish off as a runabout for me,

The strip down

We started to strip it down ready for painting, and my brother took a fancy to it, Some old git just stuffed into the side of his nice corsa sxi c20xe so it was an ideal replacement,
so another deal was done,he gave me what i paid for it and it changed hands!lol,

We sourced a few panels from the breakers, bonnets, wings doors etc to replace what was rusty or dented, finished stripping it down inc engine out and then shipped it off to my mates for painting,

The repaint

We sent it up to my mates farm to get a repaint, went for the orignal colour scheme, asked for the engine bay and under all the archs to be done as well, a must in my eyes love the look of fresh paint under a vauxhall arch!ha
Not even a week later it all came back nicly painted and very shiny, WINNER, Big thanks to Izac walley for all his hard work at a cracking price, Highly recommended, He realy pulled out all the stops to get a good finish and im very happy for the conditions that it was painted in, Good work mate!
heres just a few pictures of his work,

The engine

The motor that we have lined up for the corsa is a c20let of course, complete with f28 with 2wd conversion and quaife lsd,
My brother purchased a engine a few months back off C20letmini, thanks for that rich, with the rough spec as follows....
2litre 16v blah blah blah,
kkk hybrid(may be going tubular and t3 or similar though)
cossie "greens"
Cossie FPR,
1.9mm headgasket,
courtenay fast road cams,
QED verniers,
Custom intercooler,
slim type flywheel,
mvaux 6 paddle clutch,
enlarged tophat,
60mm fmic piping
Oh and MBE management!
etc etc etc

we are in the process of slapping a cambelt and tentioner kit on it and the waterpump has been replaced for good measure along with the usual sump gaskets....
more on the engine at a later date but heres a few pics of the work so far!

The rebuild

Once the car came back we set to work on rebuilding the shell, i have a feeling this is gonna be a long process brother is awaiting a compo payment for the smash in his old car, cheers old fella! so we are waiting for those fund for items such as interior,4 pots etc etc but we are cracking on in the meantime and the engine should find its way into the hole buy the weekend,
so far i have rebuilt the backend and started to sort out the interior,
we are using all of the black interior trimmings from the sxi as they are far more upto date hence the lack of dashboard at the minute, black one will be in soon. Infact the old gezzer smashing into the side of his sxi is doing us a great favour as its become some what of a donor car and many of the parts are being used!
sadly its starting to look very untidy on the drive so as soon as i have removed the rack, dash, column and engine she will be going!
The black carpets have been de-glassed and cleaned with some of mothers cleaning productss and is looking as new, looks great rather than the horrible dated grey carpet, the black interior trims are starting to go in too.
I have also managed to fully underseal the chassis so shes looking nice and black under there at the minute,
As soon as the parts we sent to be powdercoated today turn up(friday hopefully) we will be back in business and she will be back on 4 wheels again rather than hovering like she is now!Ha

heres a few pics of the work so far anyway

Il update the progress on my other 2 projects soon when i get a minute!

enjoy the thread any comments welcome, updates should follow daily,

im off untill the 8th so should get plenty done!

kev + steve!

yeah keeping rear wiper dont wanna go overboard with the looks tbh think the gsi kit looks well enough on its own,

as for alloys think softstars are they ones i want, look subtle and big enough to get some 4 pots under

nah prefer the late shape bumper and seeing as though we had it kicking about we thought why not,
just looks a little more modern,
the car will have loads of small touchs like this that only the enthusiasts will notice

bit slow on the updates today all i have done is this.....

this enables the engine to go back tomorow when my inlet manifold gasket arrives,

pictures of the engine will be up tomorow night when its in one piece as thats what im on tomorow
