is it possible for me to take a gearbox of and fit another on my own? i am in no rush.
i take it i have to
undo the clutch cable
undo the linkage
undo the bolts
take the gearbox off.

oh the gearbox oil is already drained

dont forget the reverse light switch wiring, tak your time, itll be easy enough.

erm..its easiest to take off the inner arch liner too..
may be worth wile dropping the rooll bar off (you'll nee to diconnect it to get the shafts out the hub)

yeah i was going to do that, the boy that done it last time took the roll bar off and dropped one engine mount.

first drop the anti roll bar, undo linkage clutch cable etc, engine brace, undo gearbox mounts, lower gearbox, undo 3 top bolts (19mm) and then bottom bolts (3x 15mm and 3x 19mm) and lift her out

I heard the engine had to come out to do this due to lack of space with this particular engine ?

I heard that you couldn't get one out (engine and box) through the top, it was a lie. I also heard you couldn't get the engine out with the box in, which was a lie too...
It'll take a bit of wiggling, but it's not too bad.
Just remember to support the engine when you undo the gearbox mounts, as it will only be held in with one mount

Take the engine out It will take you 45 mins to an hour
