I'd have rear discs if I did it again. They're not 'better' really, but they're more progressive than drums, drums seem to be snatchy, but with the discs you can feel it a lot better.

is it worth getting a rear disc conversion? and what front brakes you running?

my 2.0l brakes have a 20% imbalance and they were fully reconned with new seals/rubber discs and pads!

i have v6 front and cav sri rears. well worth doing IMO! need ot be set up properly tho, i had a modified bias valve on mine

im running 288mm v6 brakes upfront with std vauxhall pads. they make alot of dust but dont need to get them warm to make them work like i did with the green stuffs.

jamie was saying with rear discs is hard to get them to balance propperly and you need to get a bias adjuster

so you would recommend v6 (288mm) front brakes with whatsize rears (or are they all the same)

as i think when the 1.6 goes in il be needing better and more controled stopping power

olsrey, i now have a proper pedal box and bash adjuster for the bias.

the standard brake lines went in the bin......

yeah ideally you need a proper valve in there but it means re piping the brakes

v6 front, black diamond combi discs and ds2500 pads, standard vauc csv sri rear discs, pedal box, braided lines throughout

typical corsa lol. fix one thing than something else brakes. finding it almost imposible to change gear now. clutch pedal has gone really high (prob bout 12" of travel now), pedal clicks and i think ive got a gearbox leak from my o/s drive shaft seal. also got an annoying oil leak that i havent worked out where its comming from. altho i have a suspicion that it might be the crank shaft oil seal behind the flywheel for some reason

lol. its a modified corsa, and i use it everyday for work so its bound to go wrong. its just having the time to strip it all and check it all out propperly

the rear main went on mine so replaced it everything was ok.

car was then due it 1st oil change so did a flush to and it pissing out of the rear main seal again. i think the rings have gone and pushing to much compresstion in the bottom end the seal cant of gone already only been on 4 weeks.

its dead again now ppl. have replaced the clutch cable today as ive been having problems changing gear which have been progressivly getting worse. replaced clutch cable and adjusted, still cant get gears, drained gearbox oil to check for swarf and that was ok. removed clutch inspection covers and the presure plate is fucked. more time, hassel and money that i dont have. the clutch is only 1300miles old aswell, no signs of slipping or anything. the car is now off the road for the forseable future as i cant afford to fix it and i dont have anywhere to repair it anymore.

it needs a new clutch in it so gona change that and see how it goes
