If a verbal agreement was made then id stick by that. Obviously the new owner may incur some reasonable costs which the old owner may wish to cover

rob, its not a case of being arsey its a case of you doing F*ck all about the documents and generally not giving a shit. as for the comment about not doing it as I wanted the shell quickly, you had 1 month to arrange the car before collection. the fact is you didnt even remove your personal belongings from the car, I still have your school records and national record of achievement at home. neither did you have the car ready on the day of collection, there was no suspension fitted and they had to wait around for an hour for you to sort out and charged me an extra £20.

then theres the situation with the cylinder head you sold to CorsaGSI_DK. you sold it, but left it on the car for me to sort out and send to Denmark for you! it took you 2 months to make 1 phonecall about that!

I have waited 3 months now, after all you promised to fill out the docs and send them with the car. you didnt.

I have offered to give you the plate back if you cover the costs of doing so and your reply by u2u just said:"whatever"

the cost is as follows:

£80 transfer fee
£30 new plates
£20 insurance fee
£19 V62 form fee

the offer of having the plate back is still open if you want it, I dont want the plate, neither does the cars new owner. I dont want you to take this in the wrong way either, hopefully the possibility of losing your private plate will make you wake up a bit and accept that not everyone is going to run around wiping your arse for you. I could have kept that cylinder head and sold it on, I didnt though, I removed it, cleaned it up, packaged it and sent it. at my own cost.

so in actual fact the car is still registered to rob so you couldnt sell him it back even if you wanted to.

Im sure rob will get it all sorted following this post as Im sure he wont want to loose his plate.

Does the car currently have tax mot?

So you have already paid out the £19 V62 fee?

I would say the ball is in rob's court now, can a phone call not be made to agree the timescale needed for him to get the £150 to you and him to get his plate back.

Plate goes with te log book. Tough shit for not taking it off before I'd say.

I know smoebody that got a mint plate by doing that.

When I found my situation like this I kindly bought the plate after I got the car, but I didn't have to, could of told them to fuck off. But I wasn't paying so I didn't care

yes, V62 has been paid for and sent a few days back. just waiting for the V5 to come through.

tbh I didnt want this to turn into a debate, just wanted to know what the legal situation was before sending off the v62 so I didnt upset anyone.

the lad that now owns the car was happy for rob to pay the costs and send the plate back but now he cant be arsed with the fuss as hes waited 3 months and still not got a proper reply or response or even an apology. If rob cared about the plate then I am sure he would have been a bit more proactive about the situation.

now that the offer has been declined to get the plate back, the new owner wants market value back for it which is £475. (was valued at this by 3 different companies)

New kid is WELL within his rights. It'd be like me saying I owned the plate T1MMY, and going to the owner and demanding he gave it me.

but there was a verbal agreement that the plate would be sorted.

i know its robs fault for not sorting it sooner, but the agreement is there, and rob is still willing to pay the fees etc afaik.

no, he wont pay the fees. his reply to my offer of selling the fees was of the one word variety:

'Whatever'

no, he refused the fees.

didnt ask for any time to be given to get the cash either. Just to clear this up, I no longer own the car. if I did I would give rob as long as he needed to get the plate back. afterall I would prefer a standard plate, so would the new owner.
