At least the title is original :O

This is my first car, bought at the age of 17 for £400, on 32000 miles

A Corsa Swing - 1.2 8v

A few things have changed and its always an ongoing project !

Before I was on the road I fitted a Renault Laguna Splitter and Honeycombe grille. My magnex backbox and jetex air filter were also fitted. I washed and the polished the car every week - most thought I was obsessed !



A couple of months down the line the car was lowered 60mm , and I fitted a replica GSi/SRi spoiler. This was later binned for a genuine GM item.




Then my first set of alloys - these totally transformed the look of the car - loved it like this !








Next came a set of Speedline Allesios . I also bought the interior from "corsa_godfather" that came out of his written off corsa. It consists of front corbeau recliners and the rear seat/bench retrimmed to match











A couple of months ago I fitted a GSi bumper , and sprayed all the trim to match , in satin black.




I was pleased with the way everything looked , but wasn't with the 1.28v sluggishh performance ! So it was new engine time !

I bought this x16xe for £150 , and set about partially rebuilding it ...




I had never done anything with an engine before therefore had no experience at all !




The above scared the shit out of me !

Parts replaced were :

Head Gasket and all associated gaskets.
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Fully Rebuilt Head
All new radiator pipes
And plenty more that I can't at present think of.

Painted the block and it turned out as follows :




However, even though it looked good as it was I decided I would make it faster while off the road , so a powerbox/inlet manifold was fitted , along with a Pro-Tech 4 branch manifold.




Time to fit it :




Now , after weeks and weeks of hair pulling hair , the car runs nicely , however does need the lifters replacing which I will post progress of in this thread.


While the car was off the road I also set about getting rid of the rust on my tailgate , and respraying the whole panel - with rattle cans only !!













I am very pleased with the results , but will soon be buying a compressor and gun to do some more of this work , properly

did you put in that grill>? becasue dont those bumpers have in a moulded one?
would like to now what has been done to put that in.

All the bits came today so I'll get on with fitting it all tommorow.

8 new valves fitted - by this stage i was tired and pissed off as its a pretty tedious process imo !



What a relief , all 16 in looking lovely



Pistons cleaned up good and new head gasket placed on




Gave the head a lick of paint - dont worry that disgusting run is now gone !




And also sprayed the rocker cover and lower inlet , looks lovely in real light :




During putting it back together :







Still got some coolant pipes to connect up , and then its time to start it (once I've charged my flat battery :mad

Thats tommorows job along with bringing off all the trim on my car to be resprayed
