my fuel pump broke fri night so i put one in i got from a scrappy yesterday morning, the car then cut out on me yesterday afternoon, it had blown the FI fuse. and then it cut out on me today but all the fuses are ok. it starts occasionally but cuts out straight away and other times it wont start at all. any ideas what it could be ppl?

what engine is it? what engine did the pump come from?

is it the engine managment light ur on about?
x14xe and the one from the scrappy was the same but from a tigra.

if the eml is flashing then its immobilisor iirc
how did u know it was the pump thats faulty?

no light flashing. the recovery man said it was, he tested the wirin with a tester and said there was power before the pump but not after.he checked the fuses and said they were ok, it was only after i fitted the new one and i checked the fuses that i found the fi one had blown, so the one that was in there could of been ok but i dunno. it had a 20 amp fuse in there and when it blew and a mechanic mate said it needs a 30 so thats what i done. and it hasn't blown this time but it still wont run.

fuel pump fuse=30a-green fuse

the fuses are all ok.
