well, while pulling the bulb out might stop the light you are still going to have problems with the noise, so I would reccomend earplugs or glueing the accelerator down to drown out the noise.... you may also notice the car will be alot quicker.... but on a more serious note, it sounds like you have got some of the wiring wrong, sometimes there is a cable that has to be switched between the constant power (for keeping clock etc) and the ignition power (for powering the stereo)... but usually that just means the radio won't keep the clock and/or stays on all the time... check the wires aren't crossing anywhere... did you wire it yourself or did it have a socket on the back pre wired?

Think you will find that the indicator relay in the fuse box is sticking on mate.Pull it out and leave it in a warm environment over night and if it stil does it then either take it apart and wd40 it or get one from the scrappers.Latter idea prob the way to go!
other answer is that you got wrong wire to power stereo, need a constant rather than piggy backing from a switched wire.Let us know how you go!
