If i were to cut the vauxhall grille thing off my pre 97 bumper would i be able to fit say an Irmscher one in place of it or does it not that the fitting holes?

it wont fit. u have to cut into the bumper

Cut the bits marked with red. Can be done with a hacksaw and then tidied up with a file. The plate that is behind these bits just pops off. Its then just a matter of screwing the new grille in place (holes are already in the chassie) if the grille has clips around it you can file the plastic on the bumper so that they slot in nicely.

the corners of the grille dont fit in perfectly as the post and pre 97 bumpers have a slightly different shaped grille although it is hardly noticable IMO

when i done this and tried to fit a kamei grill my bonnet wouldnt close...

mine closes fine as its no taller then the origional. Only thing is its a bit harder to reach the bonnet catch but not too difficult.
Dunno what grille mine is i think its just an LMF one. I got it from wayne on here.
