the 'pointer' in the cambelt tension is supposed to sit in the 'V' when the engines running right??....is there a specific point to set the pointer to??.....ive tried setting it to the mark provided in the past and it always runs just outside the v......
how much past the 'v' do you normally set it?

are the sbd steel rollers wider than the standard plastic ones?

it doesnt always sit exactly in the V.

just as long as the belt isnt silly slack or slapping when the engine is running it should be fine

you should be able to turn the belt half way when its on

lol...i know how to set them up usually.....just without being able to 'spin' the engine up at the moment, i wonderd where you gets set the pointer to.....ill prob just set it when its in the car..

whay cant you turn the engine over? without being able to turn it over its impossible to set the cambelt tension. also on these engines you cant 'guess' the tension by twisting the belt as valva sport suggested.

i can turn it over manually (by hand)......but it doesnt give u as accurate position as when the engines running

rob lee - ive got a sykes pick' locking tool available from most motor factors

well, you can only check the tension by turning it over by hand anyway so thats not a problem.
