engines been making a loud more diesel sound when idle. and theres a slight tick tick tick tick..... will something go boom?
any idea on what this cud b on a 1.0 12v?

hello, i had this problem with my 1.0 12v ls corsa. When i had a new exhaust fitted i asked the fitter about the noise you described and he simply tightened the bolts fitting the exhaust to the under carriage. i remember thinking it sounded like engine mounts or something but since then i have had no problems. I advise just taking a look yourself armed witha spanner and tighten these bolts which are loacted towards the front of the car.

apparently it was just the mounts rattling that made that noise, i remember going through a drive through and i got that annoyed i just turned the engine off. my opinion... nothing will go boom, just a check of the bolts.

if it's from ur engine ... check ur oil levels . . . it cud be the tappets

definatly sounds noiser than before. ill hava look at the mounts 2mrw thou. dad said it sounds like tappets but he knows fuck all about cars lol!

sounds like tappets. Oil change should sort it, if not use 15w40 oil

oil and filter normaly can stop tapping, but could be timing chain  expensive!
