Metro turbo engine goes straight in, no messing.

Apart from maybe building a space for the turbo into the bulkhead.

heard that to fit an xe you need to extend the front end by about a foot?? gona be fabricating a steel kit for it i think, maybe abit touring car style so that can be an option if needs be.

The MG Metro Turbo is a 1.3 (1275cc) yeah. Original Mini turbos, the ERA were 998cc.

The 1.3 is actually 1275cc. These can be found in the 1275GT and Coopers/S, later model being fuel injected.

I thought it was more like 6" for an XE.

Allspeed do 1.6 8v conversion kit into classic front end

you can also fit a xe in a clubman without extending it

watsons and allspeed also do a vtec subframe (dont do it)

you can also put the suzuki swift engine in them

seen a CVH, but in the back of one

Metro turbo goes in, but iirc have to mod
the bulkhead for the inlet

r5gtt engine goes in

V6 vaux engine fits in the front

ford and rover v8 fits in the front

a series fits in the front and back

b series fits in the front

mazda rotary engine fits in it

Metro turbo engine is a straight swap, cut a square in the bulkhead, weld a little box in there for the turbo to sit in, job done.

ERA Turbo was 1275 too Marc

Metro turbo needs a box fabricating on the bulkhead, i can get measurements for this, or you can buy one for about 25 quid

all the engines jr listed go in, plus the 16XE vaux engines,

to be honest, anything will go within reason, i've seen a rover V8 in the front of one

best sticking with a good old a series though, maybe a 16v head (BMW K1100 one goes with a bit of work, and its fookin amazing)

Ecotec (X20XEV) goes too, under a roundnose, with no extending. only people who cant be arsed with attention to detail extend the front

the little A+ Turbo is good for about 200bhp with the right spec
