been saving up to by myself a 1.6 for my birthday(21st so ins will be cheaper). just wondering how much for a decent engine and whatever i need for transplant? also how easy to fi it myself or how much roughly at a garage?

calidus off here had a gsi engine for sale with loom gearbox and everything. don't know if he has sold it or not

When is ya birthday i am re-building one at the mo its gonna be a minter, painted block/gearbox be a great looking engine depending on ya b -day it might be ready and up for sale, its the better C16XE engine too

I had a GSi lump put in my 1.4 Sport in november, cost me a grand all in, but that included new clutch, driveshafts and the gearbox from the GSI, which you may not need, mine were just fecked. Definately a worthwhile conversion, I'm really happy with mine.

the engine comes with complete wirein loom, gearbox and driveshafts and ECU, bearing in mind it will have had a bottom end re-build i would say around the 550 mark

i sold mine complete with ecu,box loom etc for 400 notes

did it have a bottom end re-build though, it will have new tensioners pulleys, water pump, new piston rings, rehoned cylinder bores, polished crank with new bearings, bottom end will be solid, the head i am gonna leave and not put on the engine so it can be inspected and so you can put new seals in it without wasting a new head gasket or head bolts

sounds good to me, i'm gettin some money of relatives for my b-day so it'll be after that i collect if thats o.k? also so i know feck all bout engines so i'll come wi my uncle if thats alright?:
